The wood stork is a very large, long-legged wading bird about 85-113 cm (33-44 in) in height with a wingspan of 150-165 cm (59-65 in), and a large, down-curved bill. The plumage is mostly white, but the wing-tips, trailing edge of the wings, and tail are black with a greenish sheen.
